Race Information

Distances

Half-marathon (13.1 miles) begins 8:45 am. One loop course that starts and finishes at the Wappingers Recreation Area (see map for directions). Mostly flat, some rolling hills. USATF certified. Miles marked. Water stations every 1.5 - 2 miles.

5K (3.1 miles) begins 9:00 am. Flat and fast out and back course.

Kids Fun Run (1 mile) begins 8:30 am. Out and back, flat. Lots of cheering for the kids!

Where

Starts and ends at Wappingers Recreation Area, Robinson Lane, Wappingers Falls, New York.

Directions from North

From points north, go South on Taconic Parkway to Arthursburg Road (right turn off Taconic), 2 miles to turn left on Robinson Lane, 1 mile to Wappingers Recreation Area on left.

Directions from South

From New York City and points south, go North on Taconic Parkway to the Noxon Road exit (first exit after the exits for Route 82). At the end of the ramp, go left on Noxon Road. Go about 1/2 mile and at the stop sign, make a right on Noxon Road. Go about 1 mile to stop light and turn left on Robinson Lane. Go about 1 mile to Wappingers Recreation Area on the left. 

Directions from Route 9, North or South

From Route 9 to Wappingers Falls, turn east on Route 93 (also known as Myers Corners Road - Hannaford on corner). Go 4 miles to Route 376 (make right on 376), then 3/4 mile to Robinson Lane. Left on Robinson Lane, 1 mile to Wappingers Recreation Area on left.

Race Fees

* Applies to entries received on or before September 19, 2008 or registered at the pre-race expo and party. Race packets can be picked up at the pre-race expo on September 20 or on race day from 7:00 - 8:00 am at the Wappingers Recreation Area.

Tee shirts guaranteed to all runners pre-registered by September 1, 2009.

Family rate: only pay for the first four runners in a family.

Limits

Runners may register for only one race. Course maintenance will cease 3 hours after start. No baby strollers.

Awards and Divisions

Awards to first five places in each age division. Ceremony will begin as soon as possible after each race.

Half Marathon

For both male and female: up to 18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

5K

For both male and female: up to 14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

Kids 1 Mile Race

For both male and female: up to 7, 8-9, 10-12

Refreshments served after each race.

Massage Tent

Half marathoners will have free access to massage therapists and other therapy services after the race.

Facilities

Adequate parking around the start and finish area. Port-a-johns available. Absolutely no parking on Robinson Lane.
